Drive Electric Week Sept. 15-21

National Drive Electric Week is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of the widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles and more. Supported by Heartland EV Coalition, KC Clean Cities, Mid-America Electric Auto Association, Orange EV, Plug-in America and Sierra Club, there are many local events to celebrate the national event.

1) Electric Vehicle Exhibit @ Science City at Union Station
Saturday, Sept. 13 from 12 – 5 p.m. Kick off the Drive Electric week at Union Station with Science City. Experience indoor educational exhibits and outdoor vehicle displays with your admission to Science City. View event details here.

2) EV Car Show at Village Presbyterian Church
Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 4 – 8:30 p.m. The car show will include on display the Tesla Model S, Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt and Conversions. View event details here.

3) Orange EV Corporate Test Drive
Thursday, Sept. 18th from 1 – 4 p.m. Orange EV is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) that designs and delivers pure electric, industrial-strength vehicles that are better for the earth, people and bottom line. The T-Series, Orange EV’s flagship offering is now available, manufactured in the Kansas City, MO metropolitan area. View event details here.

4) Stakeholder Meeting: Workplace Charging at Black & Veatch
Friday, Sept. 19 from 1 – 3 p.m. At this meeting Clean Cities will be talking about Workplace Charging and how workplaces can help expand the EV network. View event details here.

5) Cruise Night at Long Branch Saloon, Overland Park, KS
Friday, Sept. 19. Friday night at the Long Branch Steakhouse for Cruise Night. Showcasing hot rods, street rods, customs, classics rat rides, street machines, motorcycles, and more. For one night, and one night only, introducing electric vehicles. View event details here.

6) Electric Car Display and Parade at the Discovery Center
Saturday, Sept. 20. A gathering of plug-in cars and trucks at the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center brought to you by the Mid-America Electric Auto Association. Speak with owners and ask any questions about electric vehicles. See self-converted vehicles and original manufactured cars, like Teslas and Leafs. The event includes an informal parade through the Plaza Art Fair down 47th street. View event details here.
