Crum’s Heirlooms 16211 Stillwell Rd., Bonner Springs, KS

On 12 acres, the Crum family grows a wide array of vegetables and herbs for its CSA members and for local restaurants and bakeries. Sustainable agriculture practices include composting, buffer strips, mulch, drip irrigation and integrated pest management. The tour will feature terraced growing fields, a greenhouse, high tunnel, beehives, a 1930’s barn, Coolbot cooling system and a root cellar.

Crooked Post Winery 7397 K-92 Hwy., Ozawkie, KS

Crooked Post Winery at Perry Lake is a new winery inspired by Italian architecture and style of wine. The tour will include local cheese, meats, fruit and snacks to pair with wine tastings. Visitors are encouraged to bring picnics.

Davenport Orchards, Vineyard & Winery 1394 E. 1900 Rd., Eudora, KS

Davenport OrchardsDavenport Winery is a 100-percent, Kansas-grown farm winery established in 1997 that produces about 40 wines from 17 grape varieties. The orchard uses sheep to mow the orchard. Wagon rides will stroll the vineyards, and BBQ will be available for purchase.

Gieringers Orchard 39675 W. 183rd St., Edgerton, KS

This farm grows conventional corn and soybeans, as well as produce and fruit trees. Farm produce includes peaches, strawberries, blackberries, tomatoes, blueberries, grafted tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and sweet corn. Tours will be held through its 10 acres of fruit trees, along with tasting samples and produce to purchase.

With more than 3,000 vines, Glaciers Edge Winery produces local wines and wine slushes.

The Henrys’ Plant Farm 248 North 1700 Rd, Lecompton, KS

This working farm features a retail greenhouse that offers a wide selection of annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetables. The farm has established display gardens and a variety of farm animals, including mini donkeys, peacocks, geese, ducks, sheep, alpacas, horses and a large pig.

Holy-Field Vineyard & Winery 18807 158th St., Basehor, KS

Holy-Field Vineyard and Winery offers an easily accessible vineyard for walking tours and a tasting room for its wines. Visitors can enjoy the view of its 16-acre vineyard deck, bring a picnic or take a stroll through the vineyard.

Iwig Family Dairy 3320 SE Tecumseh Rd, Tecumseh, KS

Since 1910, the Iwig family has been raising cows for milk, and in 2004 opened its dairy production, bottling and retail service. The milk contains no hormones or antibiotics. Farm products include milk, butter and ice cream.

Juniper Hill FarmsJuniper Hill Farms 1547 N. 2000 Rd., Lawrence, KS

This first-generation farm grows five acres of certified organic vegetables, along with nearly 900 acres of hay, alfalf, and small grains. The tour will include a hayrack ride, the farm’s scenic view of the Kansas River Valley and information about its growing practices.
