Knapp Family Farm raises pork and beef. The animals are raised and processed in the Kansas City area, and farm practices include no confinement for pigs, no feedlots for cattle, and grass or hay feed with no antibiotics.

Lamborn Farm 25761 151st St., Leavenworth, KS

Lamborn Farm is a fifth-generation farm founded in 1877. In 2012, the farm was listed on the National and State Register of Historic Places. Visitors can explore the restored 100-year-old horse barn and antique farm equipment. Tour activities include feeding the animals, hunting for peacock feathers, hay mazes, tire swings, racing around pedal carts, having a snack at the food stand and taking a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin or gourd for Halloween.

Lawrence Landscape Tree Farm 1193 N. 1250, Lawrence, KS

TreeFarmLawrence Landscape started growing trees at its tree farm in 2001 to supply quality trees for landscaping projects. During the tour weekend, visitors can launch pumpkins into a pond with its Giant Pumpkin Sling-Shot. Tree seedlings will be given away.

Manna Meadows 16842 Metro Ave., Bonner Springs, KS

Visitors to Manna Meadows will get to view and touch its current heard of more than 50 alpacas. Information about alpacas, their unique value and other interesting facts will be featured in the educational tent. Spinning and weaving demonstrations will be offered.

Maries Alpaca Acres 13130 S. Topeka Ave., Carbondale, KS

15 minutes south of Topeka, KS, experience huacaya and suri alpacas up close. Guided tours will be given, and the farm store will sell hats, scarves, gloves, headbands, boot warmers, socks, hunting accessories and felt.

Oz Highland Farm 9839 SW 89th, Auburn, KS

On 600 acres, Oz Highland Farm raises Scottish Highland cattle that are grass-fed and antibiotic-free.

Pendleton’s Country Market 1446 E. 1850 Rd., Lawrence, KS

PendletonsPendleton’s Country Market grows vegetables, bedding plants, cut flowers and commodity crops. Fall products include pumpkins, squash, gourds, flowers and mums. Farm tour visitors can enjoy arts and crafts for the children, hayrides, a gourd slingshot and $1 admittance to the Butterfly Bio-Villa.

Prairie City Mini’s/ Raymond Crist Restoration 92 E. 1600 Rd., Baldwin City, KS

Mini horses are the main feature at this stop. Additional farm activities include the Prairie City tram rides, kid-friendly activities, goats and Chippewa Hills Designs metal art.
