Director of Sales

Brightergy is a fast growing full service solar installation company with headquarters in Kansas City. We are a leader in the Midwest in designing, installing, monitoring and financing solar power systems. We are looking for a Director of Sales who is a self-directed super star that can grow our commercial solar sales and financing program in St Louis. The ideal candidate will have proven success selling directly to Business Owners that operate out of the building they own. We are looking for an individual who is a strong leader with experience launching a new product or a business plan. The Director of sales must be comfortable working independently and will report directly to the VP of Sales.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Work with VP of Sales to create and implement overall sales strategies designed to achieve sales objectives
Track, filter, prioritize sales opportunities and close deals
Use CRM to manage the aforementioned
Develop sales forecast and budgets
Work with marketing to define market segmentation and develop effective sales collateral and marketing activities to support sales
Achieve sales and margin goals
Develop and maintain thorough understanding of competitors
Proactively identify prospective opportunities and recommend ideas for growing business
Maintain a command of solar energy markets as well as federal and state incentive programs
Attend trade shows, seminars, etc and stay up to date with current solar technology trends
Manage post sales relationship to foster recommendations and referrals

Qualifications & Experience:

Solar sales experience a plus, but not required
Bachelor’s Degree
5 years commercial sales experience
Must be self-driven, highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

Comprehensive experience selling within the B2B market, selling to building owners is a plus
Proven track record closing multi-million dollar contracts
Solid grasps of capital budgeting and corporate financial analysis-speaking the language of C-level executives

The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), the Kansas City area’s association of city and county governments and metropolitan planning organization, is seeking a professional to support the organization’s emerging work in solar energy and regional/state-wide solar policy development. The position’s responsibilities include working with local and state officials and private sector partners to design and implement solar-friendly programs; conduct research, develop policy options and assist in the implementation of policy to facilitate greater ease and efficiency in permitting, zoning and interconnection processes, assist in the design and implementation of public outreach and education programs; and facilitate stakeholder and committee participation in the formulation and implementation of community sustainability efforts. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy or Resource Management Planning, Urban Planning, Public or Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred. The position requires at least five years related experience in environmental or energy planning, project, or program development. In addition, at least two years of the experience should be in managing projects involving resource or energy conservation, sustainability, or any equivalent. The position is funded for up to 12-36 months.

The ideal candidate will have proven success selling directly to Business Owners that operate out of the building they own. We are looking for an individual who is a strong leader with experience launching a new product or a business plan. The Director of sales must be comfortable working independently and will report to the Director of East Coast Sales.

Marketing Intern

Hours: 12+ hours per week. Schedule negotiable.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gather regional media & demographic research
Help develop marketing plans for upcoming planning period
Develop press releases
Compile mailing lists for direct mail and e-mail communications
Design & complete monthly e-newsletter
Provide new ideas during brainstorming sessions
Assist with development of social network sites and website maintenance
Assist with occasional networking events as necessary
Perform administrative duties to support the marketing and sales teams
Assist with and perform any other duties as needed or assigned by the Marketing Director

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent education required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Education:

Graduate or progress toward degree; major or minor in Communications, Emerging Media, or other Communication-related field required
Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above

Experience:

Vice President of Project Finance

Brightergy is a fast growing full service solar integrator with offices in Kansas City, St Louis, and Boston. We are looking for a Vice President of Project FInance that will be responsible for originating and structuring financing for Brightergy’s solar projects. He or she will acts as a manager between Brightergy, banks, and investors for capital-raising, deal structures, and financial model establishment and analysis. This position will work from our Boston office and report directly to the CEO and CFO while having a financial analyst reporting to them.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Be the lead team member for project financing structures
Initiate and develop relationships with financiers and securing funding sources through large lending institutions for both debt and equity
Negotiate at a senior level with potential financiers
Oversee financial models for current and future tax-equity and debt products
Prepare collateral materials for investor presentations
Identify and create financial product offerings based on different geographic market needs
Make regular reports to the CEO and CFO on project finance and development
Provide finance support to the sales and project development teams in financing special projects

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in a quantitative or technical field
5 years experience in corporate finance
Expert in MS Excel and financial modeling
Strong communicator with ability to effectively interface with investors, customers, and senior management
Proven track record structuring finance models and executing them
Strong understanding of financing and accounting principles

Ideal candidate will have:

Renewable energy project finance experience
Experience raising >$25 million from institutional investors
Familiarity with the solar PV industry, competition, and trends
Intimate knowledge of structuring renewable energy investment funds, including the complicated tax elements
Close connections with banks and renewable energy investors
