Catch the Wild & Scenic Film Festival

Local filmgoers will get a chance to see the nationally touring Wild & Scenic Film Festival for two days in Kansas City and Lawrence.

The festival, an annual event to inspire environmental activism, will be held in Kansas City on April 30 and in Lawrence, KS on May 1. Proceeds will support Friends of the Kaw, a grassroots conservation group that has been protecting the Kaw River for more than 20 years.

This year’s theme, A Wild Life, addresses wildlife and endangered species in some of the most remote areas of the world.

Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $10 in advance, $12 at the door and are free for students and science teachers. Free tickets must be requested in advance at 913-963-3460 or [email protected].

The Kansas City event will begin at 7:30 p.m., April 30 at the Glenwood Arts Theatre (formerly Leawood Theatre), 3707 W. 95th St., Overland Park, KS. View event details here. The Lawrence showing will be at 7 p.m., May 1 at Liberty Hall, 644 Massachusetts St., Lawrence, KS. View event details here.
