MARC now accepting Sustainable Success Stories

In order to recognize great work going on throughout the region, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) is now accepting nominations for 2015 Sustainable Success Stories. A panel of local judges will select projects for presentation at the Sustainable Success Stories forum to be held on Dec. 4, 2015. This annual event allows project sponsors to share local successes and challenges so that forum attendees can learn about practices that contribute to improvements in our community’s quality of life.

The 2015 Call for Projects encourages local organizations to submit projects that focus on sustainable development in the Greater Kansas City region, with an emphasis on exemplary green infrastructure projects and initiatives. Submissions related to green infrastructure projects may address such issues as stormwater management, natural resource conservation and restoration, model policies or design approaches, community engagement, urban forestry, or other related efforts. Please note that submissions are encouraged from anyone, from front-line staff to decision makers. Preference will be given to regional and local projects.

Sustainable Success Stories is part of an ongoing community dialogue focused on building a better understanding of sustainable practices that have the potential to transform our community. Learn more, discover past honorees and apply at www.marc.org.
