If you need a little local inspiration to get you moving on your home renovation project, visit the Old House Expo on Saturday, February 6 at the Kansas City Museum for a day packed with speakers, exhibits and resources on restoring historic houses.
Attendees will learn how to repair plaster, restore windows, insulate for energy efficiency and choose historic color schemes. Historic Kansas City and the Young Preservationists KC are hosting the annual event to encourage residents to invest in rehabilitating and renovating historic homes.
The event includes an exhibit hall with vendors, contractors, banks, architects and other professional and nonprofit services.
You can also research the history of your house at the Historic Kansas City booth. Attendees can get onsite help finding tax assessor photos and searching other online resources.

Bernice Radle, owner of Buffalove Development and host of American Rehab: Buffalo on HGTV and DIY Network, will present Preservation 2.0: Combating the Vacancy Vortex. Her preservation and rehab work has been featured in the New York Times, Atlantic Cities, Huffington Post, TedX and HGTV.

This event will be held 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 6 at the Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Boulevard, Kansas City, MO. Tickets are $20 per person.
Attendees can bring their own lunch, or purchase a $10 box lunch at time of registration. A cash bar will be available at the happy hour event.
