Learn the best ways to prune a tree

Get basic, hands-on training for tree pruning techniques of shade and ornamental trees in this two-hour workshop hosted by Heartland Tree Alliance.

Participants in Pruning for Beginners will receive the U.S. Forest Service’s How to Prune Trees and learn about proper pruning tools, basic tree biology and types of pruning cuts.

The class is offered four times during the fall:

  • Tuesday, August 7:  6 – 8 p.m., Strang Park, 9898 W. 89th St., Overland Park, KS
  • Saturday, August 25:  9 – 11 a.m., Buffalo Meadows, 9650 Lone Elm Road, Lenexa, KS
  • Wednesday, September 5:  6 – 8 p.m., Loose Park, 5200 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO
  • Wednesday, October 3:  9 – 11 a.m., Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch Road, Merriam, KS
