Learn what international researchers have identified as the 100 most important strategies to reverse climate change at free Drawdown: Solutions to Reverse Global Warming workshops.

The Environmental Action Committee of Village Church and Earthkeepers of Heartland Presbytery are co-sponsoring an event from 9 a.m. – Noon, Saturday, February 9 at Village Church, 6641 Mission, Prairie Village, KS. The Heartland Renewable Energy Society will present a workshop from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Saturday,  January 19 at Oak Park Library, 9500 Bluejacket St., Overland Park, KS.

Additional Drawdown events are also being held in San Francisco, CA; Palmetto, GA; Washington, DC.; and New York, NY. For a complete schedule, go to Drawdown.

Emily Libla and Rev. Helen Nelson, environmentalists and social and eco-justice advocates, will lead the January 12 presentation based on the book, Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming, edited by Paul Hawken, environmentalist and business owner. It features the work of more than 300 international researchers and their top 100 tactics to reverse global warming using existing technologies by 2050. June Holte, co-founder of the Kansas City Environmental Educators’ Network and the KC Drawdown Society, will present the January 19 workshop. 

Participants will discuss specific options and resources that can be applied in everyday life and will leave with practical strategies for reversing global warming.

Thank you, Julie Koppen, for publishing this article. The January 12 Drawdown workshop at Village Presbyterian Church currently has over sixty (60) registered participants. We have room for more.
