You can learn the basics about what’s recyclable with the new Ready, Set, Sort! recycling game developed by the city of Olathe, KS.
Although developed for Olathe residents, this free game can teach many of the basic rules of handling recycling, trash and household hazardous waste. During the game, players must sort everyday materials into the correct disposal cart or drop-off locations to earn items to build their own custom park.
Since China has set limits on the recycled materials it accepts, municipalities are looking for ways to educate residents on the importance of the “purity” of recycled materials so they are sellable. The Ready, Set, Sort! game can be found at Olathe-RecycleGame.
