The KC WildLands Seed Team is looking for volunteers to learn how to collect native plant seeds in some of the area’s best native landscapes.
In an effort to reduce large gatherings, KC WildLands will provide individuals with step-by-step guides and information on how, where and when to collect seeds to support the biodiversity of our local ecosystems. Then volunteers will work independently with direction from Jacob Canyon, the Seed Team coordinator. Seed collection sites include: Blue River Glades, Cedar Niles Park, Ernie Miller Park Prairie, Jerry Smith Park, Kill Creek Park, Lexington Lake Park, Rocky Point Glades, Shawnee Mission Park and The Prairie Center.
