Score free native plants at Monarch Mania

Discover how you can attract monarch butterflies to your landscape, and get free native plants at a drive-thru event at Monarch Mania.

Plants will be distributed by the Missouri Department of Conservation from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., or until they are gone, on Saturday, September 12 at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO.

As part of Monarch Mania events, the MDC will also host Monarch Tagging from 9 – 10 a.m. and again from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., Friday, September 11 at the Discovery Center. Participants will learn how to capture, tag and release monarchs. The project is part of a large-scale citizen science effort that began in 1992 across North America to understand the dynamics of the fall monarch migration. This free event is open to all ages, but registration is required at MDC.

I’d like to let you know, in case a reservation is needed, that I’d like to drop by this Saturday, the 12th, for one of the free native plants for Monarch Mania.
Thanks.
