Explore Halloween nature trails & fishing

It’s Halloween and the “creepy” critters of nature are calling. Here’s a chance to get the kids outside to explore the Spooky Prairie Clue Trail and go fishing at Fish or Treat.

Wear your Halloween costume to Fish or Treat for a morning of fishing and fish-themed games. Prizes will be given for the biggest catch of the day and the scariest costume. This free event is open to all ages from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 30 at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center, 1401 NW Park Road, Blue Springs, MO. Register at Missouri Department of Conservation.

On the Spooky Prairie Clue Trail, children and adults can hike a one-mile trail searching for clues to find real and costumed “creepy” critters. Start at the Missouri Tree Trail trailhead, and learn how every creature has a job in the web of life. This free event is open from 1 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 30 at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center, 1401 NW Park Road, Blue Springs, MO. Registration is not required.
