After 15 years of publishing Greenability, I am excited to announce that Tina Moessner will be the new owner/publisher, and I will be retiring.

Tina brings more than 10 years of experience in environmental sustainability leadership, including three years as Greenability’s operations manager. In 2015, she was instrumental in Greenability’s transition from a paper magazine to an online publication. Tina has held positions as an environmental officer for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS and as a sustainability project manager at Luther College in Decorah, IA, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies. She has completed graduate work in sustainable and resilient communities and is currently the sustainability and marketing coordinator at Posty Cards.

In 2007, I started Greenability as a bi-monthly, print magazine with a mission of telling the environmental stories of people, causes and efforts that make Kansas City greener and more sustainable. Since then we have shared news on recycling, renewable energy, net-zero energy houses, electric vehicles, green businesses, energy efficiency, native plants, nature, urban farming, local food and innovative environmental heroes who make this a better planet.

For me, the best part of this adventure has been meeting so many of you and having the privilege of telling your stories. Over the years we have expanded readership nationwide and won awards thanks to the many subscribers, advertisers, environmental advocates, editorial team, friends and family who support us. Under Tina’s leadership, I am optimistic that Greenability will continue its’ mission of promoting a more sustainable, resilient and restorative world.

During December while we are in transition, you can find news and events on the website at greenabilitymagazine.com. Your next Greenability Weekly issue will publish on January 4 under Tina’s leadership.

Thank you all for your continued readership and support!
