What should Kansas City parks look like in 2032?
The City of Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation Department is conducting a Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan process, and is currently seeking input from the public.
It is hosting three public open houses in April with information and interactive activities to engage residents and to gather input:
- Monday, April 10, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Line Creek Community Center, 5940 NW Waukomis Dr, Kansas City, MO
- Tuesday, April 11, 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Trailside Center, 9901 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO
- Thursday, April 13, 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Brush Creek Community Center, 3801 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd, Kansas City, MO
The new plan will act as a roadmap for the city to make improvements to the park system for the next 10 years. The planning process covers the park system as a whole, and more detailed master plans will be needed for individual parks.
The planning process began in the fall of 2022 and will be completed this spring. The team has been gathering public input throughout the planning process.
