Annual Farmers & Friends Meeting
Every winter, Cultivate KC convenes local and regional farmers and food activists to connect, converse, and contribute ideas regarding issues affecting our city’s urban farming community for the Annual Farmers & Friends Meeting (AAFM).. This year’s event will focus on building a resilient local food system through advocacy, education, and collaboration.
The free event will be held on Saturday, February 17 from 9:30 am – 2 pm. It will feature a panel discussion, lunch potluck, expo-style sessions, a seed and supply swap, and more.
The event is being planned and hosted by Cultivate KC, in partnership with Groundwork NRG, Kansas City Black Urban Growers, Kansas City Community Gardens, Kansas State University’s Urban Food Systems Initiative, Miami County Conservation District, The Kansas City Food Hub, and community volunteers.
The panel discussion will feature the topic, Determining Our Own Food Futures: Uplifting BIPOC Voices in our Local Food System. Facilitated by Ashley Williamson of The Giving Grove, it will feature:
