Missouri Prairie Foundation Native Plant Sale
Stock up on native plants for your garden at one of the biggest sales of the year.
Hosted by the Missouri Prairie Foundation, native plant vendors will sell native plants, including: City Roots Nursery, Gaylena’s Gardens, Missouri Wildflowers, Ozark Soul, and Sow Wild Natives.
Saturday, April 20: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center
4750 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO
“Choosing native plants for home landscaping is one of the best actions homeowners can take to support nature’s web of life and add beauty to their yards or property,” said Carol Davit, Missouri Prairie Foundation Executive Director.
Shoppers can stroll through the sale and purchase plants from each vendor. Some vendors accept cash, check, or credit cards; some only cash or checks. Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own crates or boxes for transporting their purchased plants home. Volunteers will be available to load plants into vehicles for those needing assistance.
Customers can see plant lists in advance and also pre-order plants for pickup at the sale by contacting the nurseries directly.
The Missouri Prairie Foundation is a 58-year-old prairie conservation organization and land trust. In addition to its prairie conservation work, the Missouri Prairie Foundation also runs Grow Native!, a 24-year-old native plant marketing and education program, and administers the Missouri Invasive Plant Council.
The native plant vendors are all Grow Native! professional members. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the conservation work of the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
