The Street Project Film Screening
How do we make our streets safe when traffic violence is on the rise?
The Kansas City Library and BikeWalkKC are hosting a screening of the documentary The Street Project! This hour-long film discusses the rise in traffic violence that impacts pedestrians and cyclists, as well as offering some solutions.
The film screening will be held Wednesday, September 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kansas City Library Southeast Branch, 6242 Swope Pkwy., Kansas City, MO.
The documentary is an inspiring story about a global movement to reclaim our largest public spaces, our streets. It features stories from individuals impacted by traffic violence including Dulcie and her mother who were victims of hit-and-run crashes, 10 years apart. Also, Stacey who led a public fight after five pedestrians were hit by cars in her neighborhood.
Following the film, BikeWalkKC will present on local issues and advocacy, as well as a panel discussion with other guests and Q&A from the audience.
There will be another screening of the film on October 16 at the Kansas City Library Waldo Branch.
