Wassailing in the Orchard

Colonial Gardens is celebrating the age-old tradition of Wassailing in the Orchard. Step into the magic of winter to express gratitude to the orchard trees for their delicious bounty and offer blessings for a fruitful harvest in the upcoming year.

Event Highlights:

• Wassail Walk: Embark on a delightful journey through the orchard, where we’ll raise our voices in traditional wassail songs, thanking the trees for their abundance.
• Toasty Bonfires: Warm up by crackling bonfires scattered throughout the orchard, creating a cozy ambiance under the starlit sky.
• Hot Cocoa & Traditional Wassail: Indulge in the sweetness of the season with our hot cocoa and Wassail, perfect to warm you up on the cold night.
• Delicious Treats: Experience the joy of roasting marshmallows and creating gooey, delicious s’mores or a char-grilled brat or steaming bowl of stew and more!
• Music: Immerse yourself in the festive spirit with the sounds of traditional wassail music mixed with some of todays favorites, setting the perfect tone for the evening

What to Wear:

• Renaissance Garb: We encourage you to embrace the spirit of the past by dressing in your favorite Renaissance attire. – Costumes optional but please dress warmly as this event is held outdoors.

What to Bring:

• Noise Makers, Lawn Chairs & Blankets: Make yourself comfortable under the winter sky by bringing your own lawn chairs and blankets to cozy up with loved ones. Bring your noise makers as we make as much noise as we can to ward off the evil spirits from the orchard.
