A veteran journalist will report on her research into misleading information about the health and safety of our food supply and address concerns about GMO labeling and glyphosate at a seminar Monday, June 6.
Sustainable Sanctuary Coalition and the Environmental Action Committee of Village Church are co-sponsoring the presentation about the corporate food system. Speaker Carey Gillam is a veteran journalist, researcher and writer with more than 25 years of experience covering corporate news, including 17 years as a senior correspondent for Reuters international news service. She has specialty knowledge in the rise of biotech crop technology and associated pesticide product development along with the regulatory issues surrounding both. She will also address the GMO labeling debate, regulatory issues and concerns about glyphosate, an herbicide commonly sold by Monsanto as Roundup .
