Metro Kansas City area residents are invited to share feedback on a proposed regional blueprint for climate action that drastically reduces greenhouse gas emissions and supports resiliency from climate-related threats.
Over the past few months, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) and Climate Action KC have worked to bring together diverse community perspectives and technical expertise to develop a set of goals and actions for a Climate Action Plan.
The plan includes actions for community resilience, energy generation, finance and innovation, food systems, governance, leadership, accountability, green infrastructure and urban greening, healthy/resilient homes and buildings, industry resource management, transportation and land use. It will serve Douglas, Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas, and Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri.
During November, community members are invited to provide more feedback on these goals and actions before they are included in the final plan. There are several ways to provide your feedback:
