Begin Earth Day celebrations by joining the Metro KC Climate Action Coalition and Kansas City WildLands for an Afternoon of Action removing invasive species at Swope Park.

Elected officials, community leaders and citizens interested in climate resilience can volunteer for a Kansas City WildLands Restoration Workday to help restore a native prairie at Rocky Point Glades from 1 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. Volunteers will meet at Lake Lodge in Swope Park, 7310 Oakwood Drive, Kansas City, MO. Training, tools, gloves and supplies will be provided.

Promoting native plants is a key strategy in reducing greenhouse gases, managing stormwater and cleaning up the local environment.

Advance registration is required at Bridging The Gap or by contacting Linda Lehrbaum at or 816-561-1089. For more information about Metro KC Climate Action Coalition, contact Lindsey Constance at or Mike Kelly at
