Are you interested in raising bees? The Midwestern Beekeepers Association is hosting a Beginning Beekeeping Workshop on Saturday, February 23.

The course offers in-depth instruction on current beekeeping practices, bee equipment, bee biology and anatomy, starting your first hive, what to look for during inspections, products of the hive, and many other honey bee related subjects. Beekeeping suppliers will be available to order bees and equipment.

The workshop will be held from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Drumm Farm Center for Children, Nelson Hall, 3210 South Lee’s Summit Road, Independence, MO. Registration is $65 and $50 for each additional family member. It includes the workshop, lunch and refreshments, class materials and a one-year membership to Midwestern Beekeepers Association. Current members may register for $50.
