Experience the health and wellness benefits of Shinrin-Yoku, the Japanese practice of “forest bathing,” at this free class.

Michael Beeshold, a certified forest therapy guide, will lead Discover Nature: Forest Therapy, Nature and Wellness in a 2.5 hour relaxing walk around the grounds of the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center from 9 a.m. – noon on Saturday, June 1.

The practice of nature immersion by slowing down and being mindful of our interconnection to the natural environment began in the 1980s in Japan and is being practiced more recently in the U.S. For more information on “forest bathing,” visit the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.

This program will take place rain or shine at the Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO. Registration is required at MDC.
