Douglas County residents can recycle their electronic waste at a drive-through event on Saturday, October 24 in Lawrence, KS.
Items that can be accepted include computers, laptops, monitors, speakers, keyboards, servers, microwaves, TVs, gaming systems, light fixtures (without bulbs), stereos, radios, phones, audio/visual appliances, CDs, VHS and cassette tapes. CRT TVs will be accepted for a fee: $15 per unit 19-inch or smaller; $30 per unit 20″ or greater.
Items that are not accepted include fire alarms, smoke detectors, thermometers, light bulbs, alkaline batteries, chemicals, large appliances or devices containing Freon.
To protect participants during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event is a drive-through drop off from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. to the K.U. Park-N-Ride Lot 301, Iowa and Clinton Parkway, Lawrence, KS.
