Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Taste locally grown fruits and vegetables, learn about pollinators and create garden-inspired crafts at the Kansas City Community Gardens (KCCG) Fall Family Festival.
This free event will be open from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 17 at the KCCG Beanstalk Children’s Garden, 6917 Kensington Ave., Kansas City, MO.
Families will wind their way through stations spread throughout the garden and orchard, tasting things like freshly-ground peanut butter from peanuts grown in the garden, grilled veggies and freshly pressed apple and pear cider. Visitors can also create garden-inspired crafts, see bug exhibits, play yard games, join a scavenger hunt and learn all about the insects and bees that pollinate the gardens.
For more information, visit KCCG.
It’s amazing how exciting it is that families may experience freshly ground peanut butter made from garden-grown peanuts, grilled vegetables, and freshly squeezed apple and pear cider as they make their way through the garden and orchard through this fun event. Someone recently told me that she’s looking for such events where she can join and I think this is the one! Thank you for the information about KC Community Gardens Fall Family Festival.
