Experience the health and wellness benefits of Shinrin-Yoku, the Japanese practice of “forest bathing,” at at a Forest Therapy Workshop.
Michael Beezhold, a certified forest therapy guide in training, will teach the general principals and health and wellness benefits of Shinrin-Yoku, or “forest bathing,” from 10 a.m. – 1p.m. on Friday, October 11 at Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s botanical garden, 1609 N.W. U.S. Highway 50, Kingsville, MO. Beezhold has a MS in forestry and previously worked at the Missouri Department of Conservation Discovery Center in Kansas City and the Kansas Rain to Recreation program in Lenexa, KS.
Following the talk, participants can go on a short walk to explore Powell Gardens. The cost is $35 per person and includes a box lunch. Members get a 10-percent discount. Advance registration is required by October 7 at Powell Gardens.
