It will be held Saturday, September 23 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Powell Community Center, 6200 Martway St. in Mission, KS.
The family-friendly environmental fair will show you how taking small steps to reduce your carbon footprint at home, school, and work can help the environment and save money.
The event features an impressive lineup of nearly 50 local business and organizations who are coming together to share inspiration, local resources, and ideas for living sustainably. Throughout the event, enjoy education sessions, a fashion show, and electronics recycling.
What to Expect
- Local Business and Nonprofit Showcase: Connect with local businesses and nonprofit organizations committed to sustainability. They will provide valuable information, eco-friendly products, and services that align with your green aspirations.
- Educational Sessions: Gain knowledge and insights during informative sessions designed to empower you with sustainable living ideas and practices. From composting and climate change to fast fashion and the beauty industry, these sessions will equip you with the know-how to make a difference.
- Fashion Show: Witness the fusion of style and sustainability in a fashion show. The multi-generational thrift store clothing fashion show is hosted by Blessings Abound.
- Children’s Activities: Children will be in for lots of fun and educational activities, including face painting.
- Electronics Recycling: Bring your old and unwanted electronics for responsible recycling. Secure eCycle will be taking old computers and electronics, focusing on laptops, desktops and monitors and recycling them at the event. Fees apply for certain items. Learn more about this service.
Go Green 2023! is hosted by the cities of Fairway, Merriam, Mission, Mission Hills, Mission Woods, Prairie Village, Roeland Park, Westwood, and Westwood Hills.
