For one day only, you can recycle waste tires, bulky items, hazardous waste, leaf and brush, glass, electronics and other items all in one place at the Hard to Recycle Collection Event in Kansas City, MO.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. – noon on Saturday, May 18 across the street from the Manual Career and Technical Center, 1215 E. Truman Road, Kansas City, MO.

Some electronic items require a fee by the recycler. Accepted Items include:

  • Waste Tires
  • Bulky Items
  • Leaf and brush
  • Hazardous waste
  • Recyclable glass
  • Paper documents that need shredded
  • Items with Freon ($10)
  • CRT monitors ($5)
  • CRT TVs 26″ or less ($30)
  • CRT TVs 27″ or more ($50)
  • Wood console and true big screen/projection TVs ($50)
  • LED/LCD/plasma TVs ($20)

Bulky items include:

  • Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioning units
  • Metal appliances: stoves, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, water heaters and furnaces
  • Furniture: couches, tables, chairs, TV’s, beds, mattresses and metal furniture
  • Other items: bathroom fixtures, cabinets, rugs, garage doors, lawn mowers, railroad ties, disassembled swing sets and metal fencing
  • Storm windows and glass panes. Place a large “X” of masking tape across glass panes to prevent shattering and stack them separately from other bulky items.
  • Carpet if it is rolled up and either more than four feet long or over 40 pounds.
