Bundle up for an outside adventure and learn how to tap maple trees to make sugary syrup at a free, Maple Sugaring workshop on Saturday, February 25.
Trees can be tapped for sap in the late winter, and with a bit of boiling, can be turned into maple syrup. This program will cover the basics of tree selection, collection and processing to turn watery sap into delicious syrup. A portion of this program will be outdoors, so dress for the weather.
The workshop will be held at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center, 1401 NW Park Rd., Blue Springs, MO. To register, visit the Missouri Department of Conservation.
