Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Take a 2.5-mile nature walk along Brush Creek on a self-guided tour to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 18.
The conservation organizations that annually host a guided walk have cancelled the group event and are encouraging participants to walk the trail throughout the day to accommodate social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The walk begins at MLK Jr. Square Park, 1800 Swope Parkway in Kansas City, MO and winds along Brush Creek Parkway to the Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Center. Find a map at Heartland Conservation Alliance.
Organizers call the event a “restorative walk to enjoy the stillness of nature as we reflect on the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” Walkers are encouraged to pick up litter along Brush Creek.
