Bundle up for an outside adventure and learn how to tap maple trees to make sugary syrup at a free, Trees: Sap to Syrup workshop on Saturday, February 5.

Trees can be tapped for sap in the late winter, and with a bit of boiling, can be turned into maple syrup. This program will cover the basics of tree selection, collection and processing to turn watery sap into delicious syrup. A portion of this program will be outdoors, so dress for the weather.

Two workshops will be held at Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO. To register, click on one of these class times: 10 – 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 – 2 p.m.

An additional virtual workshop will be held from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15. To register for the online session, go to Missouri Department of Conservation.
