Bundle up for an outside adventure and learn how to tap maple trees to make sugary syrup at a free, Trees: Sap to Syrup workshop on Saturday, February 5.
Trees can be tapped for sap in the late winter, and with a bit of boiling, can be turned into maple syrup. This program will cover the basics of tree selection, collection and processing to turn watery sap into delicious syrup. A portion of this program will be outdoors, so dress for the weather.
An additional virtual workshop will be held from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15. To register for the online session, go to Missouri Department of Conservation.
