Try your hand at tapping a tree for syrup, swinging an axe, splitting firewood and light a campfire at an Urban Woodsman Workshop on Saturday, February 16.
This free event will be open to walk-in participants of all ages between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 16 at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO.
Participants will learn about the woods and the skills needed for camping, hunting and other outdoor pursuits. There will be crafts for kids and maple syrup tastings for the family. For more information, visit Missouri Department of Conservation.
