Job Description
Working closely with and reporting to the Kansas City Area Director and the Board of Directors, the Area Coordinator is responsible for the daily administration of the organization’s Kansas City Area programming commitments, currently comprised primarily of HG’s Sustainable Urban Preservation Program (SUPP). The Area Coordinator will manage all aspects of daily organizational operation related to Kansas City Area program administration, including program development and implementation, resource development, financial management and reporting, volunteer recruitment and management, and communications. As the first Area Coordinator of this growing, dynamic organization, this position will be tasked with managing all aspects Historic Green’s Kansas City Area programming, ensuring quality program delivery and accurate program reporting as well as managing volunteer relationships. As such, this position will demand a broad knowledge of diverse fields, a passion for constant learning, and comfort wearing many proverbial hats simultaneously. |

Major Duties: • Volunteer Recruitment and management– Recruits volunteers from Historic Greens network of parterns and supporters for community service learning events. Cultvates new sources of volunteers. Manages volunteers during service learning events. • Financial Management — Maintains financial management system and policies. Accurately tracks and reports program expenses. • Facilities Management – Maintains Project Living Proof office and all supplies, tools, and administrative materials for Kansas City projects. • Reporting – Produces timely, accurate reports about Kansas City Area program outcomes to the Board of Directors and partner organizations. • Community and Public Relations — Assures the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders. Maintains effective administration of multiple communication media including the organization’s website, social media, and other strategic communication tools as related to Kansas City Programming. • Program Resource Development – Helps Resource Development Committee ensure Kansas City Area programs are adequately supported by assisting with donor development and in-kind solicitation. |

Qualifications |
2+ years progressive nonprofit management, or business or program administration experience. Understanding of multimedia communications management. Willingness and ability to travel within eastern Kansas and the Kansas City Metro area. Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Architecture, Engineering, or other building-related trade, or in nonprofit or business administration, or closely related degree. Master’s preferred. |
