Integrate permaculture into garden design

Communiversity is offering a class on permaculture to help homeowners envision a sustainable garden design for urban and suburban homesteads.

This UMKC Communiversity Intro to Urban Permaculture course will explore permaculture design principles for urban and suburban homesteads and farms. Topics include the initial envisioning process, site analysis, zone and sector analysis, energy and material flow, soil and vegetation characteristics and plant polycultures. Steve Mann and Michael Almon are the class instructors with Kansas City Permaculture Education, Extension and Research.

The class will be held from 7 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22 and Wednesday, March 1 at the UMKC School of Medicine, M-4-C01, 4th floor, 2411 Holmes, Kansas City, MO. The class fee is $14, plus a $5 materials fee. To register, go to Communiversity and register for course #2305A.
