Regenerative Agriculture Apprentices

Good Oak LLC is a regenerative agriculture and ecological restoration service based in Kansas City, MO. Our flagship project is an 800 acre regenerative farm at Powell Gardens in Kingsville, MO.

Good Oak LLC is looking for two qualified Regenerative Agriculture Apprentices to participate in a one year apprenticeship program at the Midwest Center for Regenerative Agriculture at Powell Gardens.

Apprentices will gain on the job experience with regenerative land management, invasive species remediation, native habitat restoration and reconstruction, rotational grazing, agroforestry, regenerative animal husbandry, natural bee keeping, marketing and sales.

A highly qualified candidate will be physically strong and dexterous, able to confidently handle power tools and other equipment, tolerant of heat and cold conditions, comfortable working around large animals, as well as organized and detail oriented. We value highly a willingness to listen and learn, attention to detail, integrity and organization.

Candidates must have reliable transportation to Kingsville, MO, appropriate clothing and shoes, and be prepared to work in an environment where they will be exposed to electric fences, ticks, chiggers, poision ivy, and other natural hazards.

You will be responsible for the daily care of, and work closely with cattle, sheep, dogs, hogs and other farm animals. Work week is 40 hours. You will be required to work some weekends. The apprenticeship does not offer overtime.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, participants will receive a certificate of competency in regenerative practices learned on site, and preferred hire status on future Good Oak projects.

Full time, $25.00/hour

8 hours/day, 5 days/week with some on-call and weekend shifts as needed. Expect 40 per week on average.
