The city of Lawrence will be selling wood chips and compost at it’s City Waste Reduction and Recycling Division from Thursday, March 23 through Saturday, March 25. The sale is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
The wood chips are from grinding up trees and brush that private contractors have supplied. The compost is made from leaves, grass clippings and prunings collected by the city. Employees will load the products into pick-up trucks and small trailers. Residents are asked to bring a tarp to cover the material so it doesn’t blow. The cost is $10 (cash only) per loader scoop equivalent to two cubic yards.
The sale will be held at 1420 E. 11th St., Lawrence KS. For more info, contact the Waste Reduction and Recycling Division at 785-832-3030.
