Stick your neck out for giraffes, and retire unwanted denim at the Kansas City Zoo.
The jeans will be recycled and the money will be given to giraffe conservation projects in Africa. Donated jeans will be transported to a textile recycler to reuse the denim as insulation for homes and businesses.
To honor the tallest animal on the longest day of the year, the zoo launched Jeans for Giraffes on Sunday, June 21 to celebrate World Giraffe Day. Denim donations will be accepted until Saturday, July 25.
Jeans can be dropped off in the donation bins in front of the main entrance of the zoo.
The Kansas City Zoo is located at 6800 Zoo Drive, Kansas City, MO. For more information, visit www.kansascityzoo.org and www.jeansforgiraffes.org.
