It may still be frigid outside, but it’s not too early to start planning your native plant garden. Get the basics at an Introduction to Native Landscaping workshop designed for beginning gardeners, new homeowners and those curious about native plants.
The Kansas City Native Plant Initiative (KCNPI) and Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will host Stephen Van Rhein of MDC and William Roth Gibson of Green Thumb Gardens from 6:30 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19 at the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center Auditorium, 4750 Troost Ave., Kansas City MO.
This workshop will cover the basics: the importance of using native plants in your landscape, some tried-and-true favorite species, and a few simple garden templates to try out at home.
Tickets are $5 and advance registration is required at KCNPI. All proceeds support KCNPI’s mission to promote more native landscapes in the Kansas City region.
