Sign up to attend free Climate Action Summit sessions with Paul Hawken, U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids and Mayor Quinton Lucas at this sold-out event.

Hawken, an internationally known environmentalist and author of Drawdown, a plan to reverse global warming, will headline a full-day Metro KC Climate Action Summit on Saturday, September 14. More than 500 people have registered for the all-day event, and now organizers are opening up the afternoon sessions from 2-5 p.m. to the public for free.

Hawken is one of the environmental movements leading voices and a pioneering architect of corporate reform on ecological practices. He founded Project Drawdown, a non-profit organization dedicated to researching when and how global warming can be reversed.

The event will be held at Johnson County Community College, 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS. Full day registration is sold out. For more information, email Tom Jacobs, Mid-America Regional Council environmental program director, at [email protected] or visit MKCCAC.

The Metro Kansas City Climate Action Coalition was formed in early 2019 by dozens of Kansas City metro-area elected officials. Led by Roeland Park Mayor Mike Kelly and Shawnee Councilwoman Lindsey Constance, the coalition is working to develop proactive strategies to improve climate resilience in the region.
