Habitat Garden Tours highlight home gardens transformed for pollinators

Explore diverse local home gardens that are providing habitat for birds, bees, and butterflies with Deep Roots’ Habitat Garden Tours.

During the growing season, the organization is hosting Second Saturday Tours each featuring three residential gardens that highlight native plants with blooms throughout the year.

Find inspiration and ideas to start your own garden and meet with other native plant and wildlife enthusiasts.

May Garden Tours

On Saturday, May 11, the event will highlight “Crestwood Charm” featuring gardens in the Loose Park area in Kansas City that balance traditional and fancy with wildlife habitat.

The three gardens will feature a garden balancing formal with informal, a bungalow surrounded with native plants on every side including its front yard, and charming beds of native plants in a neighborhood of empty lawns.

The May event also features a surprise scenic detour to the St. Francis Sanctuary.

The May tours will be held from 9 am to 2 pm.

Deep Roots is hosting the monthly garden tours through October highlighting different neighborhoods and themes. Tickets are available for each event or you can subscribe for the entire season.
