Online tool maps US drought

The National Drought Mitigation Center inputs data from federal and state sources to provide a summary of drought conditions across the United States.

According to the NDMC, the map is used by policy makers and government agencies to distribute relief dollars and select response measures.

For the rest of us, it can show how our local struggles to keep gardens going and trees surviving fit into a national context.  Read more about the drought map at droughtmonitor.unl.edu.
