Organic sweet potato slips available

The annual sweet potato slips order is offered by the Sustainability Action Network. Sweet potatoes are easy to grow, don’t need rich soil, love the heat and store well without refrigeration in a cool basement. The slips are leafed rootings grown organically by K-State Horticulture, who offer three varieties: Beauregard, Japanese and O’Henry.

The sweet potato slips cost 18 cents per slip, which includes shipping, and there is a minimum order of 10 of a given variety. The order deadline is March 18, and the slips will arrive June 1 when frost danger has passed. Contact [email protected] with the variety(s) you want and how many of each, in multiples of 10, along with your full name and phone number.

Please pay in advance by check or PayPal. Checks should be made payable to and mailed to Sustainability Action Network, P.O. Box 1064, Lawrence, KS 66044. Online payments can be made my PayPal at http://sustainabilityaction.net.

Contact Jason at 785-341-4911 or Ralph at 785-344-2510 with questions.

This sweet potato order is not run through Cultivate Kansas City – we have nothing to do with it. Sorry!

Please call the phone numbers listed in the original post for more information.

You might also try ordering from the Kansas City Sweet Potato Project. http://squashblossomcoop.org/shop/

Thanks,

Hey there!

The original post was for local gardeners/farmers around the Lawrence area to share a larger order from the K-State Horticulture. We are no longer doing this and individuals looking to order slips should contact organizations such as the Kansas City Sweet Potato Project or others around the country.

Thanks!
