Recycle electronics at an event near you

Used computers, monitors, TVs, microwaves, gaming systems and more can be recycled at several electronic waste recycling events in April.

Parkville Electronics Recycling Event

Parkville will host an electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. – noon on Saturday, April 2 in Platte Landing Park, 300 Main Street, Parkville, MO. This event is open to everyone. Essentially anything with a cord or battery (working or not) is collected. Most items are recycled for free, with some exceptions. Lawrence Electronic Waste Recycling Event

Douglas, KS county residents can drop off most electronics for free from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, April 2 at the K.U. Park-N-Ride Lot 301, Iowa and Clinton Parkway, Lawrence, KS. This drive-through event will accept anything with a cord or battery, including, computers, laptops, monitors, speakers, keyboards, servers, microwaves, gaming systems, light fixtures (not bulbs), stereos, radios, phones, audio/visual equipment, lab equipment, cables, battery backup systems and small appliances. CRT (cathode ray tubes) TVs will be accepted for a fee: $15 for 19-inches or smaller; $30 per unit 20-inches or larger. For more info, visit Lawrence Electronic Waste Recycling Event.

Shawnee Recycling Event

Shawnee will host a recycling event from 8 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 in the Splash Cove parking lot, 5800 King Ave., Shawnee, KS. Items collected include electronics (fees for monitors and TVs), eyeglasses and bikes. Paper shredding is available with a suggested donation.
