RecycleMania registration opens to colleges and universities across the country

February 3 marks the start of RecycleMania, the annual 8-week competition to see which colleges and universities across the US and Canada can recycle and reduce their waste the most.

Schools in Kansas are encouraged to register now and take advantage of free posters, banners, swag (such as t-shirts, Frisbees, pens and mugs) and cash stipends available on a first-come first-serve basis to help schools promote RecycleMania on their campuses.

Overall goals for RecycleMania:

  • Motivate students and staff to increase recycling efforts and reduce waste generation.
  • Generate attention and support for campus recycling programs.
  • Encourage colleges to measure and benchmark recycling activity in their effort to improve their programs over time.
  • Have a fair and friendly competition.

February 1 is the final registration deadline, so encourage your college or university to participate today! Find out about these resources, the new competition categories, view the scoreboard and more at www.recyclemaniacs.org.
