1. Powell Gardens
Treat mom to a picnic at Powell Gardens’ Mother’s Day Picnic Lunch with charcuterie boxes built for two on Saturday, May 11 from 11 am to 1 pm.
While you’re there, enjoy spring blooms and the Painted Garden exhibit.
Powell Gardens is open Wednesday through Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm.

2. Miami County Farm Tour
Escape to the country for free self-guided spring farm tours during the Miami County Farm Tour event. It features 13 stops including wineries, homesteads, ranches, and even alpacas and local pecans. Some of the destinations have picnic areas to enjoy.
The event will be held Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 from 10 am to 4 pm in Miami County, Kansas.
3. Farmers Market
Take mom to her favorite farmers market for a morning outing. While you’re there, grab local fare for a delicious weekend picnic or a handcrafted bouquet of flowers.

4. KC Family Bike Rides
Join other families for a casual, all-ages bike ride hosted by KC Family Bike Ride.
Over Mother’s Day weekend, there will be two bike rides:
- Parkville & Missouri Riverfront Trail on Saturday, May 11 from 10 am – 12 pm
- Trolley Track Trail on Sunday, May 12 from 10 am – 12 pm
5. Colonial Gardens
The Cultivate Cafe at Colonial Gardens is hosting a farm to table afternoon tea for Mother’s Day with pastries, frittata, deviled eggs, and more alongside teas and the coffee and wine bar.
Enjoy the garden center while you are there.
There are two event times for the Mother’s Day Garden Tea event on Sunday, May 12 including 11 am and 1 pm.
