Volunteer to plant trees on city streets

Help plant trees in neighborhoods throughout the Kansas City area this fall as a volunteer with Heartland Tree Alliance. Or request a free tree for your street.

Heartland Tree Alliance will be planting free trees along the right-of-way of city streets. Neighborhoods can receive trees, the planting, mulch and water bags for free. Residents are then asked to water the trees weekly for the first two years. To apply for a free tree, go to Heartland Tree Alliance.

To volunteer to plant trees, register at the links connected to each date below. No prior tree planting experience is necessary. Tools and equipment will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own work gloves and reusable water bottle. Volunteer days include:

  • Friday, November 11, beginning at 12:30 p.m., Blue Hills Neighborhood, Kansas City, MO. Register at Heartland Tree Alliance.
