Teenagers interested in animals and conservation can apply to be a VolunTEEN at the Kansas City Zoo and learn about animal care, conservation, leadership and workplace values.
Volunteer opportunities include educating zoo visitors about animal facts, working directly with animal keepers and leading activities at summer camps. In the year-long program, teens volunteer six hours per month, with additional time in the summer that varies depending on the program.
The deadline for applications is March 15 for students in the 8th to 11th grades. For more information or to apply, contact the Kansas City Zoo.
