In the Kansas City metro area, Downtown Overland Park Downtown and Johnson County Department of Health and Environment will be accepting old and unwanted electronics and paper (for shredding) at its recycling event from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 14 in the parking lot off of Marty Street between 79th and 80th Street near the Overland Park Farmers’ Market Pavilion. Charges apply for televisions ($25 per item) and CRT computer monitors ($20 per item). Keep America Beautiful that sponsors the initiative encourages participants to take the #BeRecycled Pledge to buy products with less packaging, look for recyclable items and encourage others to recycle.
