1st Annual One KC Kansas River Cleanup

As more and more harmful litter shows up in our oceans, an effort is underway to clean up the Kansas River hundreds of miles upstream, and it is seeking your help.

The Kansas nonprofit, Friends of the Kaw, organizes events to tackle local pollution impacting our waterways including the 1st Annual One KC Kansas River Cleanup.

The event invites community members, families, and local groups to join in for a community-wide cleanup on Saturday, September 7 at Kaw Point Park, 1403 Fairfax Trafficway, Kansas City, KS.

Litter will be cleaned up in the park and along the riverbank. Supplies, refreshments, and water stations will be provided.

It’s recommended to wear sturdy shoes and clothing that can get dirty, and to bring gloves and a water bottle.
